INSTALLATION OIL SEAL DETAILS AND DESIGN OF OIL SEAL OUTER DIAMETER
NOTICE OF THE CAVITY DESIGN
When designing the outside diameter, to consider the convenience of the oil seal installation. Picture (1) and picture (2) are design representatives of the general cavity. No matter how to do this, the fundamentals must be located to prevent from tilting while installing.
NOTICE OF THE AXLE DESIGN
Hardness: the hardness of the axle is usually about HRV30~40. If hoggin is too much, and exhaustion is serious, the hardness of the axle or application should be improved as far as possible. Surface Treatment:the grinding of the axle surface should obey the process method of preventing oil from spilling in a certain direction. Shaft eccentricity: pay attention to the design to prevent eccentric. Others: (a) if the axle has a key slot, the outside diameter of the part installing the oil seal should be greater. If the process of the axle is difficult, please use the installation equipment of picture(3).(b) as the axial plane is easily damaged when loading the bearing, the outside diameter of the oil seal installing position should be smaller, as picture (4).
NOTICE OF INSTALUNG THE OIL SEAL
(1)lnspect the oil seal before installation. Measure the sizes of all parts of the oil seal to make sure whether they coincide with those of the axle and the chamber or not; to inspect whether the oil seal is clean or not, whether the lips are damaged or not, or deformed or not, and whether the spring is off or not, or rusts or not.
(2)Complete the inspection of machining: the chamfer of the chamber and the axle shouldn’t be banked and the transverse should be clean. The chamfer has no damage and burrs; clean the installation part: the installation part of the axle(chamfer) cannot have parts of sundries like burrs, sands or slag etc..
(3)Before installation, wipe an amount of Ester on Lithium with MoS2 to the lips (The hand and the tool to wipe Ester on Lithium should be clean.) to prevent lips from dry-milling and influencing the magnitude of interference, when the axle starts instantly. And then install it as soon as possible. If the installation won’t start right now, the seal holder with oil seal is suggested be covered by cloth to prevent from other things attaching to the seal.
(4)The oil seal should be installed flatly, without tilting. It' s advised that locate firstly, and then install with a low speed oil press device or a bushing tool. The press shouldn’t be too high, and the force should be balanced.
(5)Mark the machine, which is installed the oil seal, and pay close attention to the whole process.
THE PRESERVATION METHOD OF OIL SEALS
(1)An oil seal comprises a metal ring, a spring and synthetic ruber. So rust or deformation should be avoided for long time preservation. (2)The oil seals are packed tightly for long time preservation, and then send them to customers for use. When you don’t need it, please don’t open it, and preserve it in a place without heat and moisture. And take the number you need out, when you need them. And others should be packed as they were for further use.
